I absolutely love the community of Clendenin. And even more, I love the people of Clendenin, especially those who are a part of this faith family that we call First Baptist Church. I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin but my family roots run deep in Clay County, WV. My daddy was born in Widen. So was my grandfather, great grandfather and great, great grandfather! I still have tons of relatives all over central West Virginia!
I love Jesus. He saved me in May of 1980. I grew up in a wonderful youth group and was mentored by many Godly men through the years. For the last 35 years, I've had the privilege of serving in different churches as a youth pastor, pastor and church planter.
Melissa and I have been married since July 23rd, 2010. We met in North Carolina! She's a beautiful gift to me. We have four adult children and four grandbabies. In my spare time, I love to bird watch, hike, root for the Green Bay Packers and follow NASCAR, stock car racing! Oh, and I love poultry. I'm a bird guy. Most of all, I love teaching people about Jesus and equipping them to walk as Jesus walked! Melissa and I are honored to be your pastor.
Global Poultry Initiative:
In addition to pastoring here in Clendenin, I lead an international ministry called the Global Poultry Initiative. Here's the website: https://www.globalpoultry.org/ - Our mission is, "Multiplying Disciples through Sustainable Poultry Production." We teach disciplemaking from the Life of Jesus and how to breed, grow and market sustainable poultry in many countries around the world! I'm honored that the leadership here at FBC allows me to wear these "2" hats!
